Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise’s romance has fizzled — reportedly because the actress felt things were moving a little too fast.
According to Us Weekly, the split was de Armas’ decision after she became “uncomfortable” with the pace of their relationship, despite the pair sharing “undeniable chemistry.” A source told the outlet that the Ballerina star, 37, “put the brakes on” but still has affection for the Mission: Impossible actor, 63.
“They have a connection,” the insider explained. “They’ll see how things unfold in the future, but for now, Tom and Ana are done.”
The rumored couple first sparked headlines in February after reportedly growing close while training together for intense underwater scenes on their film Deeper. What began as professional respect reportedly “ignited” into something more, with Cruise allegedly “captivated” by de Armas and the actress enjoying his support and company.
However, sources say the pair ultimately decided to step back to protect their friendship and their project. “They want to remain friends, but she needed space,” an insider told the Daily Mail, adding that the two realized it was best to keep things professional.
Both stars have notable relationship histories: Cruise has been married three times — to Mimi Rogers, Nicole Kidman, and Katie Holmes — while de Armas was previously wed to Marc Clotet and has dated Ben Affleck and Manuel Anido Cuesta, the stepson of Cuba’s president.
